Germany: Lewis Hamilton unveils Mercedes’ Project One hypercar at Frankfurt Motor Show

Mercedes-AMG unveiled a much-anticipated Project One hypercar at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, Tuesday. The vehicle is a two-seater hypercar, which brings the Formula 1 (F-1) hybrid technology from the race track to the streets. The hypercar is said to have a 1.6-litre engine with the system output of more than 1,000 horsepower, reaching speed of some 218 miles per hour (350 kilometres per hour... Еще). Chairman of Daimler AG Board of Management and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Dieter Zetsche, who presented the car at the motor show, said that «never before has racing technology been put on the streets.» Three-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton made an appearance at the show, commending Zetsche for producing the hypercar, saying, «I have been talking to Mercedes for ages about doing a hypercar, a real top of the line hypercar, and bringing some of the F-1 technology. And finally, you've done it. So I applaud you, Dieter, for doing it.»
