Germany: Kurds rally in Dusseldorf to demand PKK leader Ocalan's freedom

Hundreds of Kurds took to the streets of Dusseldorf on Saturday to demand the release of former Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) president Abdullah Ocalan. Marching with banners calling for Ocalan's freedom as well as for the end of «criminalisation of the Kurds» in Germany, demonstrators carried flags and a giant poster portraying Ocalan along their way. No clashes nor injuries were reported... Еще during the rally. Ocalan was seized in Kenya in 1999 and taken back to Turkey where he was tried and sentenced to death for treason and sedition. The sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment when Turkey abolished the death penalty.
