Germany: Kurdish protesters decry Iran's alleged involvement in seizure of Kirkuk

Hundreds of Kurds protested against what they see as Iran’s involvement in the Iraqi army’s recent seizure of Kirkuk, in front of the Iranian embassy in Berlin, Sunday. Protesters carried flags of Kurdistan and banners denouncing Iran and calling the country a 'terrorist' state. Shia Popular Mobilisation Units (PMU) took part in the push on Kirkuk. They are said to receive Iranian funding... Еще. The protest comes after Iraqi government troops with the help of Shiite militias captured oil-rich Kirkuk, driving out the Peshmerga and consolidating their positions close to the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil.
