Germany: 'I feared for my life' — Altena Mayor speaks for the first time after knife attack

Altena Mayor Andreas Hollstein appeared for the first time at a police press conference in Hagen, Tuesday, after being stabbed in a «xenophobic» politically-motivated attack due to his policies towards immigrant one day prior. The 56-year-old mayor of Altena Andreas Hollstein was stabbed in the neck on Monday night reportedly for his «liberal refugee policies.» The 56-year old attacker, is an alleged Neo-Nazi, who was reportedly drunk and yielded a 20 centimetre-long (8 inches) knife. In May, Altena won a national award for integrating migrants into apartment buildings instead of migrant reception centres.
