The husband of Nada Cizmarova who was killed in the 2016 vehicle ramming attack on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz Christmas Market branded German authorities “incompetent” on Monday over his wife’s death. Petr Czimar said, “What I am really angry about is what happened before the terrorist attack, that it was pretty known that this person is dangerous and still the authorities didn't arrest him, didn... Еще't deport him for some reason or maybe for the reason that they were just incompetent.” The relatives of the victims published an open letter to Chancellor Merkel criticising the German federal government’s response. Twelve people were killed and 56 injured when 24-year-old Tunisian Anis Amri drove a hijacked vehicle into the crowded market. Amri fled to Italy where he was later killed in a shootout with police. The Frattaroli family also spoke of their loss and pain one year on.
