Germany: Hundreds of Romanian workers infected with coronavirus at Birkenfeld slaughterhouse

Hundreds of subcontracted Romanian workers tested positive for the novel coronavirus at a meat processing factory in Birkenfeld, in what is believed to be one of the biggest outbreaks in the country of its kind affecting the food industry, as footage from Saturday shows. According to reports, the slaughterhouse located near Pforzheim and operated by Muller Fleisch, has around 1000 workers, mostly... Еще from Eastern European countries, with around 300 Romanians being infected with the coronavirus. Footage filmed from the outside of the slaughterhouse shows little to no movement in the area, with all the building's blinds shuttered, as the whole district has reportedly been quarantined. According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, Germany has registered 164,967 cases of the coronavirus with 6,812 deaths.
