Some 200 coronavirus sceptic protesters gathered in front of the Bundestag, in Berlin, on Friday, to protest the German government's measures against the coronavirus pandemic.
The protest was organised by the self-described «Communication Centre for Democratic Resistance». Among other measures, protesters opposed mandatory masks and the coronavirus tracking app, which they say infringe on their rights and freedoms.
Shortly before 17:00 (15:00 GMT), police asked the crowd to disperse as not enough demonstrators were wearing masks.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel originally announced a series of measures in March to curb the spread of coronavirus, which she said were necessary in order «to win time in the fight against the virus.» The measures have been gradually eased nation-wide. In the past weeks, however, the number of new infections has significantly increased.
