Germany: Hambach Forest activists celebrate felling suspension

Thousands of protesters gathered at a solidarity demonstration outside Hambach Forest to celebrate a court order to temporarily suspend felling on the site. The court argued that... Еще more time was needed to consider the case brought against RWE by BUND, Germany's branch of Friends of the Earth, and that all felling should be suspended until a decision could be reached. «The courts did not believe [RWE's] arguments,» said Hubert Weiger, BUND chairman, to cheers from the protesters, «That's a sign that our constitutional state still works.» A final decision on the case could take weeks to be reached, according to a court spokesperson.
