Members of the Alliance '90/Green Party arrived at Bellevue Palace in Berlin, Tuesday, ahead of a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in the aftermath of the breakdown in the 'Jamaica' coalition talks. On Sunday, the FDP announced that it would pull out from the ‘Jamaica’ coalition negotiations. Lindner claimed that there was no «basis of trust» between German Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Christian Social Union (CSU) and the Greens. The move sees Merkel's potential coalition collapse which may result in a snap election.
