Germany has planned for an advertisement campaign to promote the new contact-tracing smartphone application as the country prepares to ease the travel ban imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government spokesman Steffen Seibert said in a weekly press conference in Berlin on Friday.
The government officials are «working of course with an advertisement company» to prepare the nationwide... Еще campaign, Seibert said.
The contact-tracing app, dubbed by German media as 'corona-app', will be voluntary to download, unlike some countries such as India, who imposed on the state level an obligation to possess the software.
«We want to convince the citizens that this app is useful for them personally as well as for the whole to decrease the spread of the virus», explained Seibert.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Christofer Burger stressed that the travel ban has to be lifted «step by step». He optimistically quoted the foreign minister Heiko Maas pledging that Europe would open earlier than other countries is «the positive decrease of infections continues.»
Germany has reported 175,123 cases of COVID-19, with 151,700 people recovered from the disease as of Friday.
