Minister of Interior Horst Seehofer and Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia Armin Laschet were amongst those paying tribute to the victims of the Muenster van ramming attack, at a vigil near the attack site on Sunday. Seehofer and Laschet were seen laying flowers and candles, holding a minute of silence before addressing media representatives. Seehofer expressed his solidarity and... Еще condolences, on behalf of the German government and Chancellor Angela Merkel in particular. He praised the response of the emergency services personnel, who he said «not only worked very quickly, but very well.» Muenster District Attorney Elke Adomeit gave a public statement, stressing that in these early stages of the investigation, there has been no evidence to suggest the attack was «politically-motivated», nor that there was more than one perpetrator involved. On Saturday, two were killed and 20 injured when a van rammed into a crowd of people sitting outside a restaurant in the western city of Muenster. The perpetrator — later identified as 48-year old Jens R. — shot himself dead at the scene, according to police.
