Germany: Gay couples tie the knot in Hannover as equal marriage law takes effect

The German city of Hannover witnessed the city's first same-sex marriage ceremonies, after a new equal marriage law came into effect, on Sunday. Among the first to tie the knot were a lesbian couple called Dorle and Claudia and a gay couple called Reinhard and Heinz. «It's a serious thing, you should never take it lightly. I haven't got married just to keep up appearances because I no longer... Еще fancy him, but rather because I know I've found 'the one',» said Heinz, as Reinhard kissed him on the head. Dozens of family, friends and members of the LGBT community celebrated with the happy couples.
