Germany: Former SS guard gets two years of suspended sentence on 5,230 counts of accessory to murder

Former Nazi concentration camp guard Bruno D. has been found guilty of accessory to murder and handed a suspended sentence of two years in the regional court in Hamburg on Thursday. The 93-year-old defendant was seen covering his face with a folder as he entered the courtroom on a wheelchair. He was found guilty on 5,230 counts of accessory to murder related to his time as a guard at the Stutthof concentration camp, near Gdansk. The court gave Bruno D. a suspended youth sentence of two years because at the time of the crimes he was no older than 18.
