Germany: Foreign Minister Gabriel opens Holocaust exhibition in Berlin

German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel warned of the possibility that anti-Semitism might grow in Europe, at the opening of a new exhibition about the Holocaust, in Berlin on Monday. “In light of globalisation, many people are anxious here in Germany and Europe, the island of the blessed, so-to-say. And that is why anti-Semitism can grow, on the basis of nationalism and xenophobia providing man... Еще-power to corresponding parties and movements,» Gabriel told visitors at the inauguration of the exhibition — entitled ‘Beyond Duty.' He added: «but even harsh living conditions are not an excuse to become anti-Semitic or an enemy of the constitution.» Gabriel was joined by Israeli Ambassador Jeremy Issacharoff at the event.
