European Neo-Nazis marching in Berlin-Spandau to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of Hitler's former deputy Rudolf Hess were met over with over 2,000 counter-protesters, Saturday, leading to confrontations that descended into sporadic fist fights between the two groups. Activists took the same route as the right-wing rally, starting their march at Spandau station and finishing at... Еще Spandau Prison where Hess committed suicide in 1987. Despite measures taken by Berlin police to separate the two rival marches, antifa protesters managed to block the route for nationalists by sitting in the road, trapping the Neo-Nazi marchers just a few metres away from their starting point. Numerous police units closed the streets off dividing the two sides. Hess committed suicide at the age of 93 in Spandau prison in 1987, after being held for war crimes for fifty years. Neo-Nazis have long been claiming Hess was murdered in jail.
