Germany: CSU forms coalition with Free Voters following election blow

The Christian Social Union (CSU) and the Free Voters signed a coalition agreement in Munich on Monday, following the CSU's loss of its parliamentary majority in Bavaria. Involved parties, including Markus Soeder, the minister-president of Bavaria, and Hubert Aiwanger, leader of the Free Voters, signed the agreement in the Bavarian State Parliament, each promising a bright future. «It is an... Еще exciting event for everyone, but I am sure that we will achieve a good result for the citizens of Bavaria and it will make Bavaria even stronger, I'm looking forward to the cooperation,» said Soeder. Aiwanger in turn added: «We want to be able to offer a hand here, we want to be able to contribute our thoughts and thus I believe that this will be five good years for Bavaria.» In October's Bavarian state election, the CSU, sister party of Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats (CDU), lost just over 10 percent of their vote-share, compared with 2013.
