German Authorities will evacuate its citizens from Wuhan to Frankfurt International Airport in a special Air Force flight following the coronavirus outbreak, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Christofer Burger said during the Federal Press Conference in Berlin on Wednesday.
Burger explained that the last preparations are being made to deliver German citizen back home: «We are working now to clarify... Еще the last remaining questions as soon as possible, and will work more closely with the Chinese government to get the final approval,» he said.
Ministry of Health Spokesperson Doris Berve-Schucht specified that the citizens returned from the epicentre of the virus will be quarantined upon landing.
«I think a 14 day quarantine is planned, that has also been communicated by the Hessian authorities today, but ultimately it will be up to the health authorities in Frankfurt. The returnees with come back there, and from there will be transported to their destinations,» she said.
German giant Lufthansa airlines cancelled all the flights to and from China after a suspected coronavirus-infected passenger reportedly flew onboard the company's aircraft. The cabin crew and pilots have immediately switched to the next flight heading back to Frankfurt and are scheduled to land this evening.
