Germany: Cardboard fans fill Gladbach stadium ahead of closed-door match

Some 12,000 cardboard cutouts of fans filled the Borussia-Park Stadium, in Monchengladbach, on Friday, to make the stadium appear full despite social distancing measures preventing fans from attending Borussia Monchengladbach's closed-door match against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. According to reports, Borussia Monchengladbach's supporter club, known as the Fanprojekt (FPMG), came up with the idea to fill their stadium empty seats ahead of upcoming games that will be played behind closed doors in accordance with social-distancing measures in place. For €19 ($21), fans can have their life-size and weatherproof cutout in the stands.
