German government spokesperson Steffen Seibert and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Adebahr on Monday once again emphasized Berlin's commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the so-called Iran nuclear deal, despite Tehran's political ultimatum to its EU signatories on May 8.
«We don't appreciate this move and…we hope to keep the JCPOA alive,» said Spokesperson for German Foreign... Еще Ministry Maria Adebahr referring to Tehran's decision to partially withdraw from the deal.
«We will stick to it as long as Iran sticks to it, and namely without exceptions,» added Adebahr.
Seibert on his part reiterated German Chancellor Angela Merkel's standpoint on the JCPOA from last week saying, «It is in Iran's best interest to keep the agreement alive.»
Discussing possible interference in the upcoming EU parliamentary elections, Seibert underlined the heightened attention of Germany, the EU and the US's Strategic Command (Stratcom) to «the activities of diverse international sources on the internet, including Russian sources.»
