FC Union fans and football players came together to celebrate their home 3:0 victory over Fortuna Duesseldorf on Saturday, in the final fixture of their first-ever Bundesliga season.
Fans celebrated outside the pitch of the German capital's Alte Forsterei Stadium after their remarkable win over Fortuna Duesseldorf at the final game of their first-ever season in Germany's top division. The fans could be seen chanting and waving FC union's flags and banners, before players appeared over the fence.
«It was cool, it was a nice season it was wonderful. Everyone underestimated the harmony at the beginning. We got this nice present and we won, and we earned it,» said FC Union fan Inessa, outside the stadium, where some players threw their football T-shirts as gifts to excited supporters.
A small scuffle broke between a group of fans and police officers afterwards, before police appeared to detain a few bloodied fans. At least one man sustained facial injuries.
