Germany: Berlin takes Charite's finding of poisoning in Navalny case «very seriously» — govt. spox

The German government called upon Russian authorities to "explain the act" against opposition leader Alexei Navalny, spokesperson Ulrike Demmer said at a weekly press conference in Berlin on Wednesday, two days after Berlin’s Charite Hospital indicated Navalny was likely poisoned. «The republic of Germany hopes that Alexei Navalny recovers soon. We are taking Charite's clinical evidence of a poisoning very seriously. As you know the Chancellor and the foreign minister on Monday issued a joint statement on the matter and urgently called upon Russian authorities to clarify the offence to the last detail and transparency. The culprits must be brought to justice and hold accountable," said Ulrike Demmer, German government spokesperson, adding that Berlin has “complete trust on the work of the medical team treating Mr Navalny.»
