Germany: Berlin police raid arrests alleged IS militants

Martin Steltner, spokesperson of the German Public Prosecutor spoke about the raid on alleged members of the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) possibly aiming to commit militant acts in Germany, saying that «evidence-based data» was seized during the operation, in Berlin, Thursday. Steltner went on to say that «four suspects are aged between 18 and 21. Three of the men are... Еще suspected of travelling from Berlin to Iraq and Syria,» adding that «We will now study the evidence and collect more of course.» The Public Prosecutor spokesperson continued, «if those who are under suspicion of carrying out these offences are found guilty, serious punishment will follow.» Berlin police raided several locations and apartments early on Thursday morning in order to apprehend suspected militants from the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL). According to German sources, the city-wide operations in Charlottenburg and on Budapest Street were directed against possible supporters and acquaintances of Anis Amri, who was allegedly responsible for an attack on a Berlin Christmas market in 2016.
