The construction team behind Berlin's upcoming BER airport inaugurated the shell of Terminal 2 at a ceremony on Tuesday.
«This building will service 6 million passengers annually. That's more than all the other East German airports put together — Leipzig, Dresden, Erfurt and Rostock together can service fewer passengers than this smaller Terminal T2», said airport CEO Engelbert Lutke Daldrup... Еще.
«This week we were able to start with the final inquiry of Terminal 1. For the airport Berlin-Brandenburg, this is a milestone. It took us years to fix the construction catastrophe of the BER,» added Lutke Daldrup.
Berlin-Brandenburg which is adjacent to Berlin Schonefeld airport was scheduled to start functioning in 2011. Construction problems and spiralling costs have delayed the opening. Lutke Daldrup said the airport is now 'on track' to open in autumn 2020.
