Germany: Berlin condemns break in ceasefire in East Ukraine

Deputy Spokesperson of the German government Ulrike Demmer condemned the recent ceasefire violations in East Ukraine during a federal press conference in Berlin, Wednesday. «The federal government condemned the most recent break of the ceasefire in East Ukraine, and it urges the ceasefire to be continued with a full implementation of the post-agreements,» Demmer pointed out. German Foreign... Еще Ministry spokesperson Maria Adebahr added that she would not recognise violation of the ceasefire. «We, both parties who are there, call for calm and to maintain the ceasefire.» Adebahr also commented on the exchange of prisoner with Iran: «I can tell you that we are glad that a German citizen after intensive diplomatic but humanitarian efforts would be released from the Evin Prison in Tehran and returned safely to Germany.» As Libya talks resumed, Adebahr added that the UN Negotiator Ghassan Salame and the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) continue to speak intensively about the current situation to move further from it, even if such incidents as the attack on Tripoli port don't help much on it. «We call, not for the first time, all sides again to comply with the ceasefire and above all we wish us also very much and call for a constructive presentation of the 5+5 format meeting, which runs there as a follow-up to the Libya conference,» she confirmed.
