Germany: Ballots for visually impaired voters introduced ahead of parliamentary elections

Managing Director of the German Federation of Blind and Partially Sighted (DBSV) Manfred Scharbach presented the ballot templates for voters with visual impairments ahead of the parliamentary elections, in the Federation's office in Berlin, Wednesday. Scharbach outlined how voters with vision disorder will be able to use a CD that has detailed guidance on the ballot's usage. He explained that... Еще when visually impaired voters cast their ballot through the post or at a polling station, it won't differ from other ballot templates. «The right to vote is a precious asset in our view. And as it is a vested right to all those with an age entitled to vote. And naturally, visually impaired people are also entitled to vote», underlined Scharbach. German parliamentary elections take place on September 24, Sunday.
