Germany: Antifa protesters march through Berlin ahead of German Unity Day

As many as 200 left-wing protesters took to the streets of Berlin on Friday evening to demonstrate against German nationalism ahead of the far-right-wing march expected to take place in the capital on Saturday, as the country celebrates its Unity Day. The protest started in the east of Berlin and it was closely followed by a large police force that constantly walked in formation around the protesters, surrounding them. The protesters chanted antifascist slogans as they waved antifa flags and carried banners, bearing messages such as «Germany is an arsonist.» Around 100 people are set to join in the march organised by the far-right The Third Path party, which Germany's domestic intelligence agency says functions as a «catchment basin for members of the neo-Nazi scene,» on Saturday.
