Germany: Anti-racist protesters rally outside quarantined building in Goettingen

Dozens of people gathered on Monday outside the quarantined building complex in Goettingen in Lower Saxony to show their solidarity with the residents of the tower block building and to call and end to police brutality. Protesters wearing mostly black and waving Antifa flags could be seen at the street leading to the tower blocks buildings where police in full riot gear stopped them from reaching the building which has been put under quarantined following a COVID-19 outbreak. Some residents of the complex were seen behind fences cornering the building as they listened to the protesters rally across the road. The building has a large population of migrants. The complex was put into quarantine on Thursday after 120 out of the over 700 residents had been tested positive to COVID-19. On Saturday, at least eight police officers were injured in clashes with residents protesting against the restrictions.
