Germany: Ankara not seeking economic aid from Berlin — German FM

Ankara did not seek economic aid from Germany during talks in Berlin on Friday, said German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz, noting that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not ask for support when he meets with German Chancellor Angela Merkel next week either. Scholz said that «we can explicitly report Turkey has not sought economic aid, neither during our talks today nor will it do so in... Еще the talks that the president and the chancellor will hold.» Turkish Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, who also participated in the press conference, stressed that Turkey took in 3.5 million refugees, allegedly spending $35 billion while only receiving international aid, amounting to some €4 billion. He went on to say that Ankara made a «brave step» for the regional security, noting that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Erdogan in Sochi «marks an important step for the issue of Idlib, which is of utmost importance for the humanity and global security.»
