Germany: AfD hold rally in Braunschweig ahead of Lower Saxony state elections

A spokesperson for Alternative for Germany far-right political party expressed his hope that his party colleagues would enter the Lower Saxony Parliament, following the local elections, which take place on October 15. He was speaking at the AfD meeting in Braunschweig, Saturday. Meuthen positioned the AfD as an opposition to the current government, saying «We hope that those, who presented... Еще themselves here will enter Parliament of Lower Saxony and ensure there that Lower Saxony will have some opposition in the Parliament, which we have earned in your name already, within the German Bundestag. The opposition which can function as a clear corrective effort.» He also implied, during his speech, that German Chancellor Angela Merkel's migrant policy has caused security issues for the country. Meuthen said, «Where are we now, if there are concrete blocks have been erected at Cologne's Cathedral Square. That happens. These concrete blocks already have a common name; they are called 'Merkel Lego'.»
