The federal spokesman for Alternative for Germany (AfD) party said the leadership demanded its 'Fluegel' wing, considered an extremist far-right group, dissolve by the end of April. Jorg Meuthen was speaking in Berlin on Friday.
«There are clearly massive problems with the Fluegel and that is why we are very clear here. We said we demand that the Fluegel is dissolved. This is essential for us... Еще. It is not a split of the party because the AfD stays AfD and the Fluegel is an association which has no institutional structures. It is not a sub-branch of the party. But it consists exclusively of party members. Once again — they are still welcome if they stand behind the programme of the AfD, if they stand behind the constitutional order. Everything else should not be part of us,» said Meuthen.
Commenting on the issue of Andreas Kalbitz, who is accused by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of being a key figure in far-right structures for decades, Meuthen announced that Kalbitz was demanded to sue the agency and to provide an affidavit until the next meeting of the party's federal board on April 17.
