An activist was seriously injured on Saturday during a police operation at the Dannenrod forest, near Homberg (Ohm).
The activist could be seen being stretchered away by emergency personnel, following the fall, reportedly from between four (13 feet) to six (19 feet) metres.
«Today another person fell from a platform because the police were stepping on the rope,» said one activist, as she accused the state of being responsible for what she said is the «third or fourth accident in two weeks now.»
Another activist was injured during a police operation after falling from a platform on November 15.
Police press officer Wegmann Hessen, said that the situation is «currently being investigated. We declared the fall a crime scene. It will be extensively investigated. We have called for witnesses to report to us, and compiled evidence material ourselves. We had filmed the fallen woman. That will all be analysed.»
The woman was taken to hospital where she is currently being treated, according to local reports.
For more than a year activists from environmental groups have been protesting against the construction of the A49 motorway project, a proposed new section of a motorway linking North and Central Hesse. The part of the forest near Homberg (Ohm) where protests are taking place is scheduled to be cleared before late February.
