Germans chuck Christmas trees at annual World Championships

While the rest of the world is busy disposing of their Christmas trees, a German town has found a way to still have fun with their old spruces, by setting up a throwing contest. At the Christmas Tree Throwing World Championship near Weidenthal on Sunday, teams competed to throw their Christmas trees the furthest and the highest, employing different hurling techniques to do so. The competition... Еще, which is in its 13th year, is held annually near the town of Weidenthal and draws hundreds of people from the surrounding villages to cheer the domestic and international competitors, who challenge each other in the athletic disciplines of javelin-style, hammer-style and high jump-style.
