Georgia: TV host suspended for two months after insulting Putin on air

Thousands of people gathered outside the Rustavi 2 channel building in Tbilisi for a second evening of protests on Monday. They condemned an insulting speech by TV host Georgy Gabunia against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Gabunia started his live show on Sunday evening by calling Putin a 'filthy invader' and insulting his deceased parents. The opposition-run Rustavi 2 channel suspended the... On Monday, the Russian president's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the incident unacceptable saying it was caused by 'the reluctance or unpreparedness of the authorities to keep extremists at bay.'
