Geesus! Lekeitio residents rip heads off geese at traditional festival

The Basque town of Lekeitio celebrated its annual Day of the Geese celebrations, welcoming more than 40,000 visitors, on Tuesday, to witness competitors rip the head off of grease-covered geese suspended by rope over a body of water. The tradition, believed to be over 300 years old, takes place in honour of the town patron saint, San Antolin. No animals were harmed during the event itself, as...
