Mourners, including former students of a murdered French teacher, officials, and locals came to the building of College Bois d'Aulne in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Sunday, to pay tribute to Samuel Paty who was beheaded on October 16.
People laid flowers, put candles and left notes at the entrance of the college.
A former student of Paty described him as «a very good teacher. He was smiling, joking, which shows good humour.»
Mathys, one of the mourners, added, «Islam is not like that at all. We are not here to kill.»
On October 16, 47-year-old history teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded outside his school in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris. The teacher had recently shown caricatures of Islam's Prophet Muhammad to his students during a discussion on freedom of speech.
