Two people died when a suspension bridge over the Tarn River collapsed in the French city of Mirepoix-sur-Tarn, 30km (19 miles) north of Toulouse, on Monday.

Toulouse Prosecutor Dominique Alzeari said one of the victims was a 15 year old girl, while Eric Oget, mayor of Mirepoix-sur-Tarn, announced the truck driver had also died and nobody else was missing. Bystanders were able to save the mother of the deceased teenager, who was driving the car.
