France: Thousands attend silent march in honour of murdered teacher

Around 6,000 people gathered in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine on Tuesday to pay homage to Samuel Paty, a teacher who was murdered last week in what French officials have dubbed a terror attack. A crowd of mourners gathered in front of Paty's former school before taking part in a silent march attended by officials. Grievers could be seen holding a portrait of the deceased teacher before singing French National anthem in tribute. Last Friday, 47-year-old history teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded outside his school in Conflans Sainte-Honorine after showing his students caricatures of the prophet Muhammad.
