France: ‘There goes the neighbourhood,’ locals react to Saudi prince’s $320m buy

Residents of the famous Louveciennes commune spoke on Monday about their new neighbour after it was revealed “the world’s most expensive home” was bought by a Saudi prince. One local named Annie said: “It’s a shame. It could become a beautiful luxury hotel.” Another, Jean said: “We discovered it as a pleasant surprise that only French craftsmen were hired for construction and decoration... Еще.” Patrick added: I find it very good that this gentleman bought this castle but what is unfortunate is that we, inhabitants of Louveciennes, cannot see it more closely.” Two years ago, the Chateau Louis XIV was sold for over $300 million and Fortune magazine called it “the world’s most expensive home but the identity of the owner was unknown. On Sunday it was revealed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, heir to the Saudi throne, was the mystery buyer.
