France: Sister of Adama Traore who died in police custody demands public trial

Sister of black man Adama Traore, Assa Traore addressed the crowds of protesters against police brutality who gathered on the anniversary of her brother's death, in Paris suburb Beaumont-sur-Oise, Saturday. Traore died in police custody in 2016. «Today I no longer trust French justice, today we are asking for the truth about the death of my little brother, we are asking for a public trial, we have all the elements, all the elements to go and have a public trial,» she said. Earlier the same day, thousands of people walked through the streets of Beaumont-sur-Oise demanding justice for Traore. Traore died in police custody in 2016, after he had been stopped for an ID check and reportedly tried to flee because he had no identification documents.
