Protesters staged a mock birthday celebration to mark Apple’s alleged ten years of tax evasion in Paris on Thursday. The demonstrators from Association for Taxation on Financial Transactions and for Citizen Action (ATTAC) chanted “Apple, pay your taxes” while dancing around a giant birthday cake. The protest was timed to coincide with the worldwide release of the iPhone X, the tenth edition of... Еще the company’s smartphone. According to Melanie Poulain, Head of PR Online at ATTAC, the aim of the protest was to, «denounce tax evasion by Apple, with its €230 billion (£205 billion/USD$267.8 billion) in tax havens. Poulain demanded Apple pay its fines, notably to the EU Commission which has sentenced the company to a €13 billion (£11.6 billion/USD$15.1 billion) fine. The activist was referring to a decision by the European Commission in 2016 that Apple received illegal state aid from Ireland.
