France: Riot police swarm health worker at unauthorised Paris rally
Police officers held a health worker down against the ground during protests in Paris on Tuesday, as nurses, doctors, paramedics and other health professionals marched towards the Champ De Mars park where they were met by riot police.
The officers were seen holding the nurse down after she allegedly threw stones at them, as she was asking for ventoline.
Similar unauthorised protests were expected across the country as part of a nationwide movement denouncing the lack of equipment in hospitals and stagnant wages.
Last month, French Prime Minister Edouard Phillipe announced that the government will hold a 'public consultation' on health service reform.
French President Macron's administration is meeting with trade unions this month to improve the communication with opposition groups.
