France: Putin arrives in Paris for Jacques Chirac’s funeral

Russian President Vladimir Putin landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on Monday to attend the funeral of former French president Jacques Chirac, who died last week aged 86. The funeral service is scheduled to be held in church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris. Around 30 world leaders are due to attend the service, including incumbent French President Emmanuel Macron, his German counterpart... Еще Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Italy's Sergio Mattarella among others. Chirac passed away in Paris on Thursday morning aged 86. He was elected as a president in 1995 for a seven-year mandate, and then again in 2002 for a five-year mandate, after having already served as prime minister.
