Pro-Armenia supporters gathered in the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, amid the ongoing conflict with Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, Sunday.
Mourad Papazian, Co-President of the Coordination Council of Armenian Organisations in France (CCAF) said, «We are here to defend the right to life of the people of Karabakh. We are here to defend the Armenians of Karabakh, for their lives.»
The protest was held on the eve of the humanitarian truce that is expected to come into effect on Monday, following the reported meeting between US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun and foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh that resumed on September 27 is considered to be the heaviest since the end of the Nagorno-Karabakh War in 1994.
