France: Police use tear gas and pepper spray as protesters decry govt pension reform move

French union members and other protesters marched through the streets of Paris on Tuesday, to protest against the government's decision to push through its pension reform bill by decree without a parliamentary vote. Footage shows police pepper spraying protesters, and tear gassing them as they rattled against barricades erected on the streets. Protesters can also be seen being escorted by police... Еще convoys who blocked access to certain streets to prevent further escalations of the protest. The government's pension reform bill, which ignited one of the largest waves of protests in French history, began being debated in the National Assembly on the 17th of February. The reform aims to unite 42 specific pension regimes into a single points-based system.
