Orly airport in Paris reopened on Friday after a three-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Only 74 flights were set to take off on the first day, compared to an average of 600 under normal circumstances.
Orly CEO Regis Lacote said around 10 percent of the usual number of passengers was expected in the airport on Friday.
Lacote noted that travellers are required to wear face masks, use hand sanitisers and respect social distance.
«You have to respect the preventative measures that everyone has learnt since the beginning of the crisis,» said Lacote
In the morning, passengers and airport staff were evacuated from Terminal 3 for around 30 minutes after a suitcase was left unattended.
