Health workers received a standing ovation for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, from French President Emmanuel Macron and other government officials, during the 2020 Bastille Day military parade, in Paris, on Tuesday.
In the traditional part of the ceremony, dozens of aircrafts and troops paraded in front of the officials. In conclusion, health workers descended onto the tarmac on Place de la Concorde, stood next to soldiers, and received a standing ovation. One of the health workers was caught by the camera with tears in her eyes.
Bastille Day is celebrated on July 14 every year in commemoration of the storming of the Bastille in 1789, which kicked off the French Revolution.
