France: Libyan rivals agree to Dec. 10 elections

Libya's rival political factions met in the Elysee palace in Paris on Tuesday, to sign an agreement on the UN-backed presidential and parliamentary elections, set to be held later this year. During the talks, the parties decided to adopt the necessary electoral laws by September 16 and agreed to hold the parliamentary and presidential elections on December 10. The country has been in a state of political turmoil ever since the toppling of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
