France: Le Pen casts ballot in local elections as voters head to polls during coronavirus lockdown

French far-right National Rally (RN) party president Marine Le Pen cast her vote in France's local elections in Henin-Beaumont on Sunday, amid a nationwide coronavirus lockdown. Municipal elections are taking place across France's roughly 35,000 communes on Sunday despite the lockdown, which came into force at midnight, although turnout is expected to be reduced as a result. There are at least 4,500 confirmed cases in the country, and 91 have lost their lives so far.
