France: Juncker denies May begged for help at dinner, condemns ‘all separatism’

European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker rejected media-fueled claims in a speech on Monday that UK Prime Minister Theresa May had begged for his help at a recent dinner meeting. During a speech to the Institute of Political Studies in Strasbourg, France, Juncker briskly denied media rumours of a May begging for his assistance, stating that he found May “in good shape” and that she was... Еще “doing her duty,” before underlining the importance of reaching an understanding with “our UK friends.” Juncker also touched on Catalonia, stating that he didn’t like “what has been done” there but at the same respected “the expression of will that we have observed there.” Juncker remarked that it is “understandable” to want to have an identity, but criticised wanting to oppose it against the identity of others, firmly expressing his stance “against all separatisms.”
