French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb stated that pressure must be eased off of Calais on Friday, in the wake of a violent brawl between migrants that left four severely injured and more than twenty hurt. The mass brawl broke out on Thursday, between Afghans and Eritreans. The fight led to the shooting of five migrants, four of whom are now in a critical condition. Speaking at a press... Еще conference held following a visit to the police sub-prefecture, Collomb said the conditions of four of the injured were «still extremely worrying.» Collomb said France had re-established border control, and that migrants coming to Calais would not be able to go to the United Kingdom. «The message I want to send is that if one wants to go to the United Kingdom, he or she should not come here,» the Interior Minister said, before adding, «last year we prevented the entry of 85,000 people to France.» On January 18, France and the United Kingdom signed a treaty aiming to improve security in Calais.
